Manulife Asset Management has named Michael Evans as a managing director and portfolio specialist, focused on the firm's US equity teams, based in Boston, MA.

Manulife Asset Management has hired Michael Evans as a managing director and portfolio specialist, focused on the firm's US equity teams, based in Boston, MA.

Evans will report to Jeffrey Santerre, senior managing director and global head of the portfolio specialist team.

He has around 20 years of investment industry experience, having spent ten years at Evercore Asset Management as a senior equity research analyst. In that role, he concentrated on small- and mid-cap core investment portfolios for institutional clients.

Prior to that, he worked for Gray Capital Management as a fixed income analyst/assistant portfolio manager.

Manulife Asset Management is the global asset management arm of Manulife Financial, providing asset management solutions for institutional investors and investment funds globally. The firm had C$280 billion ($263 billion) in assets under management at end-December 2013.
