Macquarie-Owned Asset Manager Snaps Up Former UBS Man

Delaware Investments is a global asset manager that offers a range of equity and fixed-income solutions for individual and institutional investors. It had $167.2 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2016.
Macquarie Group's Delaware Investments has hired John Leonard, formerly of UBS Global Asset Management, to head up its equities division.
Leonard oversees the firm's nine US-based equity investment teams while also serving as global chair of equities for Macquarie Investment Management.
Based in Philadelphia, he reports to Shawn Lytle, president of Delaware Investments. Lytle, president, had been acting as interim head of equities since May 2015, a spokesperon told this publication.
While at UBS Global Asset Management, he held numerous roles, including global head of equities. He began his career with Brinson Partners – a predecessor of UBS.
“John is a pre-eminent money manager who has significant experience leading equity teams with different investment styles,” said Lytle. “He is a strong fit with our multi-boutique investment culture and I am confident under his leadership we will continue to provide diverse equity offerings that best meet the varying needs of our global clients.”
