London-based fund manager Marshall Wace has listed hedge fund MW Tops on Euronext, raising €1.5 billion, well over its initial €1 billion target.
The newly-listed vehicle will invest in two of Marshall Wace's "tops" strategies, which pick the best trade suggestions from analysts and brokers.
According to the company, the strategies have generated annualised returns of 23 per cent and 20 per cent since launch and in October both were up 2.2 per cent.
Most of the demand for the launch came from European and the Middle Eastern investors.
