KBL European Private Bankers Makes Trio Of Senior Hires

KBL European Private Bankers, the parent company of UK-based private bank Brown Shipley, has made three new appointments to its senior management team. Frédéric Genet, Marc Lauwer and Yves Stein have joined the firm’s executive committee, based in Luxembourg.
Genet, who joins KBL as chief executive, professional services, was previously a CEO at Société Générale Bank and Trust. In his new role, Genet will focus on reinforcing the services provided by KBL’s global investor services, global financial markets assets and liabilities management, and credit departments.
Lauwer was latterly head of retail and commercial banking at Belfius Bank in Belgium. Before that, he served as chief operating officer at Dexia Bank Belgium and as CEO of Dexia Banka Slovensko, based in Slovakia. In his new role as chief operating officer at KBL, Lauwer will be responsible for operations, IT, and facilities and logistics.
Stein joins KBL from Union Bancaire Privée in Luxembourg, where he served as CEO. Before that, he was director general, private banking at BNP Paribas Switzerland. In his new role, Stein will oversee KBL’s private banking franchise in Europe and internationally.
Genet, Lauwers and Stein join existing executive committee members: Jacques Peters, group CEO; Olivier de Jamblinne de Meux, CEO, Luxembourg; and Yves Pitsaer, chief finance and risk officer.
In other recent developments, last month KBL European Private Bankers appointed Hanif Mohamed to the newly-created role of group chief legal officer, also based in Luxembourg.
KBL European Private Bank currently manages some €80 billion, including €41 billion in assets under management and €39 billion in assets under custody.
