Julius Baer Boosts Thai, Philippines Teams With Credit Suisse Trio

The Swiss private bank has made three senior appointments from its rival.

Julius Baer has appointed Pradinan Arkarachinores as team head for the Thai market, Agatha Chan as team head for the Philippines market, and Tisha Mellado as senior relationship manager for the Philippines. All three join from Credit Suisse.

Arkarachinores previously was an ultra-high net worth client relationship manager at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, where she has worked since 2011. She has over 10 years of private banking experience in Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Based in Hong Kong, she will report to Angela Bow, head of emerging Asia at Julius Baer.

Chan has over 15 years of experience in working with UHNW and HNW clients in the Philippines and across Asia. She was previously a senior relationship manager at Credit Suisse. She has also worked at Nomura Securities and BNP Paribas Wealth Management. Based in Hong Kong, she will report to Christian Cappelli, market group head, Philippines.

Mellado was also a senior relationship manager at Credit Suisse, with over 15 years of private banking experience covering UHNW and HNW clients across the Philippines. Based in Singapore, she will report to Cappelli.

The roles are all newly-created, the bank confirmed to this publication.

"Thailand and the Philippines are important markets for Julius Baer. We are proud to attract experienced bankers, who recognise the benefits of a pure play structure for our entrepreneur clients. These bankers appreciate the accessibility of market expertise through our partners in investment banking without any conflict of interest with our core business," said Bow.
