Joanna Lumley To Open New Morgan Stanley Kids Company Therapy Centre

UK actress Joanna Lumley of Absolutely Fabulous fame will open the new Morgan Stanley Heart Yard in Loughborough junction, with Kids Company founder and chief executive, Camila Batmanghelidjh, after the firm raised £1.6 million ($2.5 million) for the Kids Company, to help with operating costs for the new centre.
Opening in the coming weeks, the new Morgan Stanley Heart Yard - a therapy centre for the Kids Company charity that provides practical, emotional and educational care to vulnerable children and young people - will offer one-to-one therapeutic support to thousands of kids to help them overcome a childhood destroyed by violence, abuse and neglect. The new venture will offer complementary adolescent counselling and therapy treatments to thousands of vulnerable and abused young people.
“By raising the funds to acquire, renovate and operate the Morgan Stanley Heart Yard, our employees have helped to provide a permanent base in which Kids Company can continue to deliver its vital work with thousands of children, and we are proud and honoured to have contributed to such an invaluable and important cause,” said Colm Kelleher, president of institutional securities, Morgan Stanley.
Morgan Stanley continues to support its charity partners, including The Prince’s Trust and past beneficiaries such as Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, the British Heart Foundation and Age Concern.
Kids Company services are delivered across six centres and 40 schools in a number of deprived communities.
