JTC To Offer US Trustee Services

The Jersey-headquartered provider of private client, corporate and fund administration services is targeting US-connected clients.
JTC has been granted a trust license in South Dakota, allowing it to provide US trustee services to private and corporate clients, particularly those in the Americas and Asia with a US element to their planning needs.
“Our presence in key global financial centres continues to expand and evolve and, with that in mind, I’m delighted that we are now able to offer fiduciary services from South Dakota, a jurisdiction with a growing reputation for its progressive trust legislation,” said Nigel Le Quesne, JTC's chief executive and chairman.
The firm said it chose South Dakota because of the efficiency of its courts, convenient time-zone and popularity among private and institutional clients with US-connected wealth planning requirements.
Among recent developments, JTC established Jersey’s first managed trust company for a mainland Chinese institution in August.
JTC established a presence in the US in 2013 with an office in Miami, from where it offers corporate, fund and private client services. The firm then opened a further office in New York in 2014.
