Investec Trust Appoints New Director From Rothschild Trust

Investec Trust, part of the South African and UK-based Investec Group, has named Luis Gonzalez as a new director. Mr Gonzalez is a former managing director of Rothschild Trust.
In his new role, Mr Gonzalez will provide senior support for
UK non-domiciled private clients with a range of structures and
will have particular responsibility for property interests. He
will also have a role in business development, strengthening
Investec’s network of
London intermediaries.
“Luis’ Latin American knowledge and his considerable expertise in a wide range of our business areas will be a significant resource for us going forwards," said Investec Trust’s managing director Jane Kerins.
“Investec wishes to continue to broaden its depth globally and Mr Gonzalez’ appointment reflects this approach. There is no specific plan for expansion in Latin America but his appointment underpins our strategy to be able to provide bespoke, professional trust services tailored to meet the needs of the individual client wherever that client may sit geographically,” a spokesperson told Wealthbriefing.
Mr Gonzalez joins the firm from Rothschild Trust, where he was most recently a managing director with a responsibility for a non-UK portfolio, focusing on Spanish-speaking countries.
A qualified lawyer, Mr Gonzalez has also worked in a number
of of jurisdictions including Grand Cayman,
London and Jersey.
Investec Trust currently has offices in six jurisdictions,
employing approximately 200 professionals in Guernsey,
Jersey,
London,
Mauritius,
Switzerland and
South Africa.
