Investec Asset Management Pushes Asian Private Banking Outreach

The new figure will be based in Singapore.

Investec Asset Management has appointed John Cappetta as head of private banking, Asia advisor, with immediate effect. Cappetta will be based in Singapore with responsibility for managing and driving the IAM’s private bank distribution business across Asia.

With 28 years in financial services, Cappetta joins the firm from Julius Baer where he was the head of funds advisory for Asia, based in Singapore. Previously, he had various senior roles at Merrill Lynch, George Van & Company and Safra Asset Management in the US, Singapore and Australia.

“We are excited to tap into his wealth of experience and expertise in managed advisory sales to private bankers and high net worth clients, which will be instrumental in bolstering our private banking distribution in Asia,” Eric Fu, managing director and country head for Greater China, who oversees Investec Asset Management’s Asia advisor business, said.

IAM managed more than $151.3 billion on behalf of third-party clients as of the end of June this year.
