Invesco Strengthens Equity Research Team

New York-listed Invesco, the asset management firm,
has taken on three research analysts for its global quantitative equity
research team.

Michael Abata and Eric Cheng report to director
of research, Andrew Waisburd, as will Charlie Ko when he joins on 15 May, the
firm said.

Ko was formerly director and senior portfolio
manager at Batterymarch Financial Management, where some of his
responsibilities over the past 11 years have included portfolio management,
research and quantitative modelling.

Cheng joined the team, in December, having been a US equity
analyst at Markit, while Abata, with 20 years of quantitative equity
experience, started in October.

Abata joined from State Street Global Markets,
where he was a senior vice president and portfolio manager. In this role, he
was responsible for developing multi-factor models and managing large cap
portfolios.

The GQE team manages the ongoing enhancement and
monitoring of Invesco's global and regional stock selection models, with offices
in Boston, New York, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Melbourne.
