InvesTrust, a national trust bank that serves individuals and institutions, has appointed Mark Williams as chief investment officer.

Williams joined InvesTrust from Bank of Oklahoma, where he oversaw accounts with around $2 billion in assets. Before that, he led a team investing $900 million in client assets as lead portfolio manager at Central Trust and Investment Company, based in Columbia, MO. He is also a former director of research at Invista Capital Management.

“His many years of experience with market leading financial institutions throughout the Midwest will position us for continued growth in the coming years,” said David Thompson, president and chief executive of InvesTrust.

In his new role Williams will be responsible for the firm's investment strategy, including monitoring overall performance, developing long-range investment plans and strategies, overseeing securities investment operations and identifying market trends and opportunities.

InvesTrust is part of ASC Holding, the asset and trust management subsidiary of American Fidelity Corporation, an Oklahoma-based provider of insurance, financial and asset management products and services.
