Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, an international law firm, has appointed Ryan Harris, Cole Parker, Kyle McHugh, Ryan Jackson and Ziyad Ziyadzade as partners, launching its office in Chicago.

The partners advise private equity sponsors, family offices, and public and private companies across a broad range of strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, growth and venture investments, restructurings, divestitures and financings.

The team has worked together prior to this move for “many years,” Ryan Harris, who will serve as managing partner of the Chicago office, said.

Worldwide, the firm, established in 1884, has about 2,000 lawyers. It is headquartered in New York with offices in Beijing, Boston, Brussels, Dallas, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Luxembourg, Palo Alto, San Francisco, São Paulo, Tokyo and Washington, DC.
