Salin Bank & Trust has promoted a wealth management business development officer it hired a few months ago.

­Family-owned, Indiana-based Salin Bank & Trust Company has promoted John Coughlin to wealth management market president for Indianapolis.

Salin Bank appointed Coughlin and William Varanka as vice presidents and wealth management business development officers in October last year.

Coughlin was previously a vice president and business development officer at First Financial Bank, having previously held the same roles at Regions Bank from 2007 to 2013. 

Coughlin's career in financial services began in 1989 when he joined Charles Schwab until 1999.
