IPI Names Directors For New York, San Francisco
The Institute for Private Investors, which provides educational resources for ultra high net worth investors, has made two key appointments in New York and San Francisco.
Vijay Kumar has been named director of membership, based in New York, where she will oversee all aspects of membership with a focus on partnerships with the advisor community and private investors. In addition, she also fills the newly-created position of commercial director for North America at the parent firm Campden Media.
Prior to the appointment, Kumar was chief executive of VRK Consulting and founded Global Connect, a private forum that gathers individuals of various backgrounds to discuss ideas and expand social and business networks.
Pete Sutherland joins the San Francisco office as associate director after serving as a consultant with the company. In this new role, he will lead IPI's membership development functions and expand its market presence in the US. Prior to IPI, he served as chief operating officer of the USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier Museum and also led various museums in the Bay Area.
IPI offers educational and networking resources for UHNW investors and has an online network of 1,100 investors. The company has its own private wealth management curriculum and collaborates with The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania on week-long programs.
