IMCA Appoints Education Director

Denver, CO-based Investment Management Consultants Association has appointed Jim Dobbs as director of education - a role in which he will oversee content development and implementation, delivering courses and curricula related to IMCA’s certifications and continuing education requirements.

Prior to joining IMCA, Dobbs was a certification consultant and program director for the association’s certified private wealth advisor certification program, a position he held for about six years, the association said.

Dobbs has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, working as a consultant and educator with private clients, corporations, membership associations, regulatory organizations, and academic institutions.

In addition, Dobbs founded Dobbs Wealth, a fee-only financial planning and investment advisory practice serving private clients. He has also previously worked for numerous financial services firms, including Mercer, Citigroup, Ameriprise Financial, and Sanders Morris Harris, the investment banking firm.

IMCA was established in 1985 to provide investment consulting, wealth management credentials and educational offerings, including membership, conferences, research and publications.
