HighTower has added Thomas New as an executive director at its Kelly Wealth Management practice in Baltimore, MD.

New is latterly of Morgan Stanley, where he was a senior vice president and branch manager for the firm’s Hunt Valley, MD, office.

HighTower said it is looking to restore the tradition of boutique wealth management in Baltimore, following the absorption of many local firms by larger players in the region.

Kelly Wealth Management is comprised of Leo Kelly, managing director and partner, and Brian Grumbach, executive director and partner. They joined the HighTower network in February last year.

In January, Kelly Wealth Management added Matt Moore as a managing director and partner. Moore, who previously served as a senior financial advisor and first vice president of investments at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, manages $250 million in assets and works with affluent families, individual clients, closely-held businesses and non-profit organizations.
