Heritage Trust Company Names New President

The organization is part of Argent Financial Group, a group with $37 billion of assets.
Oklahoma-based Heritage Trust Company has appointed Michael Romero as president, taking over the role from Kevin Karpe.
Romero is also an adjunct professor at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he teaches courses in estate planning and administration, and business law. Romero joined Heritage from the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma, where he served from 2001 to 2019. At the Baptist Foundation he was vice president and trust counsel until 2016, when he was promoted to senior vice president and chief development officer.
There have been a number of senior changes over the past two years. For example, Aaron Jack, CEO at Heritage, took on that role in August 2020, taking the helm from Bond Payne, a co-founder. Payne left to be chief of staff to Ken Stitt, governor in Oklahoma.
The firm has offices in Oklahoma City, Ponca City and in Tulsa under the AmeriTrust brand, which serve clients in the US and several countries around the world.
Both Heritage and AmeriTrust are part of Argent Financial Group, a leading, independent, fiduciary wealth management firm with responsibility for more than $37 billion in client assets.
