Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust, a Florida-based wealth management and private banking firm, has appointed Irene Tapanes as a private banking associate in its South Miami office, EUBankers reports.

Tapanes joined the firm from Daszkal Bolton, where she was a senior tax accountant, the report said. Earlier in her career, Tapanes served at Deloitte Tax as an international tax consultant.

In other developments, earlier this year Gibraltar Private reported a net loss of $295,000 for the first six months of 2010, significantly less than the loss of $9.6 million for the same period a year ago.
