German Industrialist Probed for Possible Tax Evasion

German prosecutors are investigating Reinhold Wuerth, the founder of toolmaker Wuert, and five other unnamed people related to the company for possible tax evasion, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said, citing the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office.

The prosecutor's office declined to give details. Wuerth Group has about 63,600 employees.

German authorities have recently launched a number of investigations for possible tax-evaders, with many individual cases relating to Germans allegedly avoiding taxes by putting money into banks in Liechtenstein.
