German Banking Industry Veteran Joins US Private Equity Firm

Dr Heinz Hockmann, a veteran of the asset management and banking industries, is joining the independent private equity firm
Lovell Minnick Partners, which provides capital to financial services firms.

Dr Hockman, who joins LMP as a senior advisor, is a former executive officer of Germany’s Commerzbank. He was with the bank for nearly 20 years, and during his career there held responsibilities for asset management, private banking and investment banking. He also founded the firm’s global asset management platform for international institutional clients.

After leaving Commerzbank he led the restructuring of Westfalenbank through 2005 and went on to join Fortis Investments. He later co-founded Silk Invest in 2008, an investment management firm specializing in frontier markets, with headquarters in London and offices in Africa and the Middle East.

In his new role he will advise Lovell Minnick’s investment professionals on deal sourcing, due diligence and evaluation, with specific focus on international asset management opportunities, the firm said.

Lovell Minnick is a management-owned private equity firm with offices in Philadelphia, PA and Los Angeles, CA. It manages PE partnerships totaling around $800 million on behalf of qualified private and institutional investors.
