Genworth Names Chief Technology Officer

Genworth Financial Wealth Management, a subsidiary of New York-listed Genworth Financial, has hired James Hanna as chief technology officer and a member of its senior leadership team.

Hanna brings 25 years of experience to the role and reports to Carrie Hansen, senior vice president, chief operations officer and president, mutual funds, for Genworth Wealth Management.

He previously worked at Bank of the West, where he was executive vice president and chief technology officer since 2005. Prior to that firm, Hanna held positions at Fidelity Information Services and Alltel Information Services.

Genworth Financial Wealth Management has approximately $20 billion in assets on its platform and works with more than 6,000 advisors. Late last year, Genworth Financial appointed Thomas McInerney as president and chief executive, and he took up the role at the start of January.

Net operating income at Genworth Financial’s wealth management segment was $10 million for the third quarter, down from $12 million in the prior year third quarter, the firm reported last autumn.
