GenSpring Expands In The South With Two Top Hires, A Promotion

GenSpring Family Offices has brought in two managing directors of client development in South: John Frazer will lead client development efforts in Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas, while Dale Sands will focus on business owners and executives.

GenSpring Family Offices has brought in two managing directors of client development in the South, in the shape of John Frazer - who will lead client development efforts in Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas - and Dale Sands, who will focus on business owners and executives.

GenSpring has also promoted Chris Trokey - who has worked at the firm for ten years and previously served as a family investment officer in Atlanta - as managing director of client service in the South. In his new role, Trokey will lead around 30 family office professionals and oversee client experience matters in Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, and Nashville, TN. Before GenSpring, he was a vice president at Tower Hill and has also worked in the private wealth management division of Goldman Sachs & Co, having started his career at KPMG.

Frazer spent the past 25 years at SunTrust Bank - most recently as executive vice president within the private wealth management division in Georgia and North Florida. He also served as president and chief executive of SunTrust Bank in Memphis, TN, as well as executive vice president and head of private wealth management in the region.

Sands, meanwhile, has around 17 years of investment banking experience, advising ultra high net worth families, young entrepreneurs, closely-held businesses and corporations in various corporate finance capacities.

At GenSpring, Sands will work with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, the corporate and investment banking arm of SunTrust Banks - an affiliate of GenSpring - where he was formerly a senior member within the M&A group. He started his career at Salomon Smith Barney in New York and during his career has advised clients on numerous public equity, private equity, merger and acquisition and corporate divestiture transactions.

The appointments follow recent efforts by GenSpring to expand in the West, including the addition of a Los Angeles, CA-based family office and a significant expansion in San Francisco, CA.
