FundQuest taps David Root to lead sales efforts

Fund-wrap provider looks to veteran to spearhead retirement-market efforts. Third-party investment platform provider
FundQuest has hired former
Neuberger Berman executive David Root to head the firm's sales efforts. Root's experience includes mutual-fund and separately managed account programs, qualified plans, offshore products and variable annuities.

Old hand

"[Root] will help us to gain clients and improve our turnkey services," says Jim Fox, FundQuest's COO. "We are seeing a high degree of interest in FundQuest's new retirement income management services, an area in which Dave has significant experience."

Before joining FundQuest, Root was in charge of Neuberger's mutual-fund wrap and "consulting services" products. Prior to that, he oversaw sales for
Linsco/Private Ledger's fee-based product platform. Earlier in his career, he managed
Putnam Investments' outreach to financial advisors.

Boston-based FundQuest, which has $30 billion in assets under management and administration, is owned by French megabank
BNP Paribas. -FWR
