Franklin Templeton names director for RIA efforts

Ex-Allianz Global sales head to help expand manager's indie-advisor sales. Asset manager Franklin Templeton Investments has named Lincoln Baca as director of its registered investment advisory (RIA) division. Baca will oversee the expansion of Franklin Templeton's outreach and sales efforts to the registered investment advisor marketplace.


"We are excited to welcome someone with Lincoln's experience and expertise to our team," says Dan O'Lear, head of distribution at San Mateo, Calif.-based Franklin. "The RIA Division is a vital market segment for us, and one we intend to expand and dedicate resources to."


Baca comes to Franklin from Allianz Global Investors / Dresdner RCM, where he was in charge of national RIA sales.


Franklin had over $541 billion in assets under management at the end of November 2006. -FWR
