Four New Partners for Offshore Law Firm

Conyers Dill & Pearman, the offshore law firm based in Bermuda, has announced two new partners in Hong Kong and one in Bermuda. Vivien Fung and Piers Alexander concentrate on mutual funds and corporate finance in Hong Kong. Marcello Ausenda has a broad-based practice covering ship finance, securities, insurance and corporate restructurings.

Mr Ausenda joined CDP in 2001 as a lawyer in the corporate department. Prior to that, he worked on M&A for Latham & Watkins and project finance for Clifford Chance.

Ms Fung did articles at Baker & McKenzie in Hong Kong until 1994 when she joined a local firm where she practised Hong Kong law. In 1999, she was recruited as associate by CDP.

Mr Alexander was a funds lawyer with Clifford Chance, London from 1995 to 2001 and Clifford Chance, Hong Kong from 2001 until he joined CDP as an associate in November, 2002.

Additionally, Richard Fear, whose practice includes investment funds, capital markets, banking and structured finance, has joined the firm's London office.

He has arrived from Charles Adams, Ritchie & Duckworth in the Cayman Islands where he had been a partner for more than six years.

He will work with Naresh Sakhrani and Sheba Raza who both joined the CDP London office in early 2007. The appointment of Mr Fear brings the complement of lawyers in the London office, which advises on the laws of Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda, to eight.
