Former Senior UBS Figure Switches To Standard Chartered

The new appointee will concentrate on serving Singapore's UHNW population, a segment that private banks are competing over.
A former senior UBS figure has joined Standard Chartered Private Bank in Singapore.
Gerald See will focus on serving ultra-high net worth clients in the Asian city state, the bank said in a statement yesterday. He will report to Gavin Chia, who is market head for private banking in Singapore and Malaysia.
With more than 13 years of wealth management experience, See joined the bank from UBS where he was a director in the firm’s global family office and UHNW division. Previously, he was a venture capitalist focused on both early stages and pre-IPO start-ups.
See is also familiar with the UK commercial real estate space having worked full time, acquiring, refurbishing, and re-letting several building assets, UK-listed Standard Chartered said.
Another former UBS banker who has joined Standard Chartered Private Bank is Cedric Lizin. Last year, as reported here, he was named regional head, ASEAN & South Asia, private banking.
