Former Morgan Stanley Wealth Exec Joins LPL

LPL has recruited a former Morgan Stanley wealth management executive to oversee service, trading and operations.
LPL Financial, the RIA custodian and broker-dealer giant, has named Tom Gooley as managing director of service, trading and operations, effective June 25.
Gooley joins LPL from TIAA-CREF, where he was latterly senior managing director and chief risk officer of the retirement and individual financial services division. Before that, he was managing director and head of operations of Morgan Stanley's global wealth and asset management divisions. Earlier in his career, Gooley led equities and futures operations at Bank of America Securities after 12 years at Goldman Sachs.
In his new role at LPL, Gooley will be responsible for leading LPL's service, trading and operations organizations, while mitigating risk, increasing efficiency and improving the client experience. He will report to Mark Casady, LPL's chairman and chief executive, and will serve as a member of the firm's management committee.
He will work in LPL's Charlotte, NC, office for one year before relocating to San Diego, CA.
