This news service has noted that a number of senior bank figures have departed Credit Suisse to work at Deutsche Bank in Asia, and in other regions.
Deutsche Bank has appointed former longstanding Credit Suisse figure Eleanor Lam as managing director and market head for Southeast Asia in the international private bank, effective today.
Based in Singapore, Lam will report to Johanes Oeni, who is head of IPB, Southeast Asia, the Frankfurt-listed bank said in a statement yesterday.
The lender said Lam will “also focus on identifying cross-divisional business opportunities to leverage Deutsche Bank’s product suite across wealth management, the investment bank and the corporate bank for entrepreneurs and their companies.”
With more than 24 years’ industry experience, Lam was most recently at Credit Suisse, working as a senior client partner in Singapore’s market. Before that, she worked for nine years at UBS. Lam graduated from the National University of Singapore with a bachelor of economics degree.
As UBS pushes ahead with its integration of Credit Suisse, all eyes are on whether Credit Suisse will manage to retain talent or see an outflow – as several industry sources have told this publication. A number of former Credit Suisse managers have left, in some cases joining Deutsche Bank, in Asia. For example, Deutsche Bank recently appointed Serene Wee, a former longstanding senior Credit Suisse figure, as managing director and senior client partner in Southeast Asia Wealth Management. Deutsche Bank also appointed Johanes Oeni – also ex-Credit Suisse – as head of the international private bank, Southeast Asia.
