Palm Equity, a Florida-based multi-family office founded in 2008, has taken on Christopher Battifarano as its chief investment officer and partner. He will lead the firm’s asset allocation, manager selection and investment policy efforts.
Battifarano previously spent many years at GenSpring Family Offices, where he was responsible for manager due diligence efforts for alternative and traditional strategies. He also spearheaded the firm’s manager selection committee and served on its portfolio allocation and construction committee.
Before joining GenSpring, he was a wireless telecommunications equity analyst at Ryan, Beck & Co.
At Palm Equity, he joins Grant Mashek, founder, as a managing partner. Mashek founded the firm after having been vice president of investments at New York-based CSM Capital Corporation.
“Chris’s experience at one of the world’s largest multi-family offices makes him uniquely qualified to lead the investment process at Palm Equity,” said Mashek.
“I am confident that with his unwavering commitment to preserving our independent ownership, client-first mentality and our quest to seek out the world’s best investment opportunities, we will grow the firm’s footprint and our ability to serve our client partners.”
Based in West Palm Beach, the firm is a discretionary multi-family office for ultra-wealthy individuals and families. It specializes in emerging and lesser-known managers with which it has no affiliation, according to a statement.
