US private bank First Republic Bank has appointed Joe Petitti as executive vice president, deposit sales, product and strategy.

Mr Petitti was formerly executive vice president and head of retail segment management for Union Bank of California. He is now responsible for all of First Republic's deposit acquisition strategies, which include its preferred banking offices, private banking and business banking in the US, as well as product development and client services.

Mr Petitti has more than 30 years of financial services experience. He also served as market president for Union Bank, with responsibility for its 120 branch network in central and northern California.
