First Republic Signs Venture Capital Vet

First
Republic Bank
has signed on Philip Korn in Palo Alto, California as
relationship manager and managing director.

Korn
will focus on technology entrepreneurs and the venture capital community and
provide private banking, business banking, investment management and trust
services, and real estate lending services.

Prior
to joining First Republic, Korn was responsible for venture capital
relationships at TriNet. Previously, he worked for Silicon Valley Bank for 11
years and focused on venture capital relationships and venture banking.

Korn
is currently located in First Republic’s Palo Alto office and will move to the
bank’s new Menlo Park office on Sand Hill Road when it opens at the end of the
first quarter. The new office will be the bank’s second Menlo Park location.

First
Republic said it has significantly expanded its presence in Silicon Valley by
adding offices, bankers and wealth management professionals in the last three
years. In addition to its Palo Alto and Menlo Park offices, the bank has
locations throughout Silicon Valley, including San Jose, Los Altos, Los Gatos,
Redwood City, San Mateo, Burlingame and Millbrae.
