MassMutual, the US-based life insurance company, has appointed Michael Doshier as vice president and head of external markets for the retirement services division.

Doshier joins from Fidelity Investments where he most recently served as vice president of marketing for the firm's retirement business. He brings over 20 years of financial services experience to the role. At MassMutual, he is responsible for leading the division's efforts in plan sponsor marketing, advisor marketing and competitive insights. He reports directly to E Heather Smiley, the chief marketing officer for the retirement services unit. 

MassMutual's retirement services division has been serving retirement plans for 65 years and has some 1.3 million participants.
