Family Law Expert Joins Transatlantic Firm's NY Office

Anglo-American law firm
Mishcon de Reya has appointed family law partner Michael
Stutman to its New York office, joining from Mayerson Stutman
Abramowitz, a family practice he founded in 1998.
Stutman is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; vice president and on the board of governors of the New York Chapter; and author of How to Divorce in New York, first published in 1993. He was recently lead counsel in the case of Desilva v Desilva, in which a wife received 100 per cent of marital property.
“For some time now we have witnessed the increasingly international nature of our clients needs, and recognize the growing value of multijurisdictional expertise in wealth management,” Kevin Gold, managing partner at the firm, said about the appointment.
Mishcon de Reya New York opened in January last year and is headed by James McGuire. The original firm was founded in 1937. Today, it estimates that about three quarters of its work has an international dimension.
