FINRA Elects Krawcheck, Norensberg As Governors

The
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has elected Ken
Norensberg and Sallie Krawcheck as governors, to begin their
terms immediately.
Krawcheck, president of global wealth and investment management, Bank of America, and Norensberg, chief operating officer of Tritaurian Capital, were elected after voting held at the 2011 annual meeting on 3 August. Of the eligible members to vote, 46 per cent participated.
Norensberg has already served as a small-firm governor for the past year, while Krawcheck takes over from board member Richard Brueckner, who had served as a large-firm governor on the FINRA Board since its inception in 2007.
According to FINRA rules, governors are elected for three-year terms and can only serve up to two consecutive terms.
Elected to serve a one-year term as lead governor was Jack Brennan, chairman emeritus of the Vanguard Group, replacing Brueckner.
Five individuals were reappointed to the board, including public governors Charles Bowsher, former US comptroller general; James Burton, California Strategies; Harvey Goldschmid, Columbia University Law School; and Kurt Stocker, Northwestern University. Floor member representative John Dolan of Knight Capital Americas was also reappointed.
