Ex-RBC Team Joins Raymond James

The New York-listed financial services group has recruited a former employee and his colleague in Maryland.
Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James offering wealth management and financial planning services, has recruited the Decker Global Wealth Group to join its Annapolis, Maryland office.
The group, comprised of managing director and client advisor Craig Decker, along with assistant vice president and registered associate Emma Sterling, joins from the Royal Bank of Canada, where it managed $250 million in client assets.
Earlier this year, Raymond James acquired the US private client services unit of Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, now operating under Alex. Brown brand.
Decker began his career with Alex. Brown back in 1997 before moving to Tucker Anthony two years later, which was later acquired by RBC. He is a certified private wealth advisor, an accredited investment fiduciary and an accredited wealth management advisor, Alex. Brown said in a statement.
Sterling began her career in financial services with JP Morgan in 2011, where she held various roles in administration, wealth advisory, and private banking, including managing securities, money movement and foreign exchange. She joined RBC's Decker Global Wealth Group last year.
“For Craig it is a homecoming as he was with the original Alex. Brown in the late 1990s - before the Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank acquisitions - so we couldn’t be more pleased to not only have Craig be our first advisor recruit under the revived Alex. Brown flag, but also have him and Emma re-establish an Alex. Brown office in Annapolis where he began his career, and help us continue to grow and expand the brand in this important market,” said Marcus Aiello, Alex. Brown's Baltimore and D.C. regional executive.
