Eight-Person Wealth Team Joins Avantax

The arrival of this new team follows a similar migration of a group in Arizona a fortnight ago.

Avantax, a US firm that concentrates on tax-focused wealth management and planning, has brought an eight-person team into its embrace.

The team, which runs more than $230 million of client money, is called Comprehensive Financial Services. The firm is located in California and led by Anna Luke and her husband Victor Luke. They transferred to Avantax from Independent Financial Group.

“The main reason we chose Avantax is their tax focus. By teaming up with tax professionals in the Avantax network, our clients can improve tax efficiencies through cohesive relationships with CPAs in a way that gives us confidence and keeps clients satisfied with us as a one-stop shop,” Victor Luke, who specializes in estate planning needs, said.

In late August, Avantax brought over Arizona-based firm CFR Capital Group. CFR has about $120 million in client assets, as of June 30.

Avantax had $83.8 billion in total client assets as of June 30, 2023.
