Eagle Asset Management, the Florida-based provider of equity and fixed-income investment strategies to institutional and individual investors, has appointed Aaron Ochstein as global head of institutional consulting, a newly created position.

Ochstein will manage the firm’s due diligence with select US-based institutional clients that have a significant presence globally, and head up new business development in markets outside North America.  Additionally, he will oversee a team of institutional sales consultants currently based in Europe, it said in a statement yesterday.

Most recently, he served as head of European distribution for Mesirow Financial International UK, where he oversaw new business development and client management in the UK and Europe for its Direct Alternative Strategies.

Ochstein will report to Richard Rossi, president and co-chief operating officer of Eagle, and is based in St Petersburg, Florida. Eagle, founded in 1976, oversaw around $32.2 billion of assets as at June 30.
