EY Continues Building Out Its Private Client Tax Business In US

EY is deepening its tax offering for wealthy individuals and family offices with the addition of New York-based BCRS Associates.
Members of BCRS Associates, including co-founders John Cook and Joe Bulger, are now part of EY's private client services tax practice and aligned within the Big Four accountancy firm’s financial services organization.
The move comes shortly after EY strengthened its ties with family offices by bringing in the members of Family Office Metrics, the consultancy, as part of its family office advisory services team (see more on that here).
With the addition of BCRS – a tax firm serving high net worth individuals and family offices – EY will further develop its income and estate planning, charitable gift planning and cross-border tax compliance services.
“This group will be at the heart of the EY Family Office offering, supporting clients through highly skilled technical teams from across all of our service lines, including close alignment with the EY Global Family Business Center of Excellence and Strategic Growth Markets,” said Kate Barton, EY Americas vice chair of tax services.
“The highly fragmented market often leaves family offices with a patchwork of service providers at a time when they are facing complex tax issues impacting their business interests, personal interests, investments and other financial-related assets,” added Cook.
EY's private client services division provides tax-related domestic and cross-border planning and compliance assistance for individuals and their associated entities. The organization's Family Business Global Center of Excellence connects family business owners with their peers, as well as providing industry insight.
