Diversified Trust Appoints Principal From Rival

The Southeast-based wealth management firm with over $5 billion of client assets has boosted its team in North Carolina.
Diversified Trust has hired Kim Garcia from US Trust as principal.
Garcia served as wealth planning strategy executive at US Trust. She previously spent five years at First National Bank of Commerce in New Orleans as personal trust services manager and as trust tax and operations manager. In her new role, she will be based in Greensboro North Carolina.
“Kim will be an immediate asset to our clients, drawing from almost 30 years of experience advising families in the areas of investments, trusts and estates, financial planning and family dynamics. We are pleased to introduce her at a time of continued growth for Diversified Trust in Greensboro,” said Buster Johnson, managing director of Diversified Trust.
The senior hire comes weeks after Diversified Trust promoted nine senior staff across the three states in which it operates, including Kim van Zee to senior vice president in Greensboro.
Diversified Trust's wealth management offering covers investment management, trusts and estates, family office, and institutional advisory services. In addition to Greensboro, the firm, which was founded in 1994, has offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Memphis, Tennessee; and Nashville, Tennessee.
