Deutsche Bank bolsters West Coast wealth business
German megabank pulls in private banker, two investment advisors
from Citi. Deutsche Bank's Private Wealth Management division has
hired three former Citigroup wealth managers to work with West
Coast clients.
The new hires are Ed Lok, Jonathan Herpel and Deirdre Judge. Lok
reports to Mark Pittsey, head of Deutsche's PWM office in San
Francisco. Harpel is based in San Francisco as well, but he
reports to PWM investment-advisory head John Alexander -- as does
Judge, who is based in Los Angeles.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Ed, Jonathan and Deirdre to
our team," says PWM head Thomas Bowers. "They will be a
tremendous asset to our organization as we further enhance our
position as a leading integrated private bank."
Lok was with Citigroup Private Bank in San Francisco. Before that
he was an investment banker in Hong Kong, also with Citi.
Herpel's last job -- it seems -- was as a senior portfolio
manager with Citigroup Asset Management (CAM) in Geneva. CAM
became part of Legg Mason at the end of 2005. Judge was a
director of Citi's hedge-fund strategies group in Los
Angeles.
Herpel was previously at Citigroup Asset Management in Geneva, as
a director and senior portfolio manager. He has also worked as
the director of investment services at Citigroup Private Bank, as
well as at Bank of America in different positions. She has also
worked as an investment counselor at Fleet Asset Management (now
part of Bank of America) in Stamford, Conn.
In the U.S., Deutsche's PWM consists of its domestic
private-banking operations and Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, the
retail-brokerage business of Deutsche Bank Securities. -FWR
