Deutsche Bank adds ex-Bear exec to New York roster

And, on the Cayman Islands, intermediary team leader gets a wider
purview. Deutsche Bank's Private Wealth Management (PWM) unit has
hired former Bear Stearns executive George Zahringer III as a
managing-director rank client advisor in New York. He reports to
Haig Ariyan, head of Deustche Bank PWM's New York region
operations.
"We are extremely pleased to add someone of George's caliber to
our franchise," says Thomas Bowers, Head of Deustche Bank PWM's
U.S. division. "His deep relationships with the financial sponsor
community will be key to leveraging synergies with the Global
Banking and Global Markets divisions of Deutsche Bank."
Sunshine and exercise
Zahringer has been in the financial-service business for more
than three decades. With Bear Stearns (now part of JPMorgan
Chase), he was a senior managing director and client advisor. He
is a member of the board of directors for Chrysler Corporation
and Remington Arms.
And it seems Zahringer is a dab hand at golf too: he was the 2002
United States Golf Association mid-amateur champion and a member
of the 2003 U.S. Walker Cup team.
Deutsche Bank has also given Janet Hislop head of PWM's financial
intermediaries team on the Cayman Islands, additional
responsibilities as the German bank's "chief country officer" in
the Caymans.
As a result, Hislop "will manage the Cayman office providing
local oversight of risk management, regulatory and corporate
governance issues," Deutsche Bank explains in a press release.
"She also will support marketing activities and new business
initiatives and will be the principal liaison with local and
other regulatory bodies."
In the U.S., Frankfurt-based Deutsche Bank's PWM consists of its
U.S. private-banking operations and Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown,
the retail-brokerage side of Deutsche Bank Securities. -FWR
