Deals Of The Day: The Latest In Wealth Management M&A – Williams Tax & Financial Services, LPL Financial

The latest mergers, acquisitions and other corporate actions in the wealth management sector.
Advisors at Williams Tax & Financial Services have joined LPL Financial's broker-dealer and registered investment advisor platform, moving from Cetera. The firm reported serving about $340 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets, LPL Financial said in a statement.
Williams Tax & Financial Services, which is based in Los Alamitos, California, is led by Steve Williams, a certified financial planner and enrolled agent. He is a second-generation advisor whose father founded the firm's original tax business. Williams is joined by Jobel Rentino, an enrolled agent, and Kirk Hunter.
The practice combines tax and financial planning services under a single offering, a model increasingly common among independent firms competing for clients seeking coordinated advice across investments, retirement planning and tax preparation.
The move adds to a string of advisor transitions to LPL's platform from rival broker-dealers, as the San Diego-based firm continues to expand its independent advisor and RIA channels through recruitment from wirehouses, regional broker-dealers and other independent networks.
