Cut-rate broker brings in new advisor workstation

Scottrade offers Scivantage Professional to help streamline advisor workflow. Scottrade Advisor Services, the RIA-support unit of St. Louis, Mo.-based online broker-dealer Scottrade, has selected Scivantage's Professional workstation as its advisor-desktop offering to advisors.

Scivantage Professional is a suite of integrated applications designed to help advisors open and maintain brokerage accounts, execute standard and complex trade orders and manage client accounts from a web-based interface.

Advisor feedback

"By deploying Scivantage Professional, advisors using Scottrade's platform will have access to a full suite of powerful applications that support their unique workflow; helping to deepen client relationships and grow their business," says Adnane Charchour, president and CEO of Jersey City, N.J.-based Scivantage.

The Professional workstation is "a flexible platform that can quickly scale to support future growth, feature-rich, out-of-the-box capabilities to support the immediate needs of their advisors, and seamless integration with their proprietary back office and other third-party systems," Scivantage says in a press release.

In addition to basic front-office functionality, Scottrade-supported advisors who use the Scivantage platform will have access to Scivantage Maxit, a cost-basis, tax-management and portfolio-reporting application.

Scottrade Advisor Services picked Scivantage over other desktop providers on the basis of feedback from its institutional clients, according to the Scottrade unit's head Doug Talir.

"Advisor input and guidance is imperative as we move forward with our Advisor Services program," adds Talir. "We are committed to understanding our advisors' needs and helping them build their business. Scivantage brings the experience required to develop the complex account-management and trading system that our advisors demand."

Scottrade Advisor Services charges no advisor enrollment fee and sets no minimum asset requirement. -FWR
