Credit Suisse nabs UBS executive

De Chellis to help build out Swiss bank's North American wealth biz. Credit Suisse has lured UBS’s ultra-high-wealth business head Anthony de Chellis to run its private banking unit in the Americas, a new position.

De Chellis will be based in New York. He starts his new job next Monday. He will report to Walter Berchtold, chief executive of Credit Suisse Private Banking.

“Our goal is to increase our presence in the US, the world’s largest wealth market, where we are already making significant progress,” says Berchtold.

U.S. private banking head Gary Neuser will report to de Chellis, as will Alexander Siegenthaler, head of private banking in offshore North America, Latin America and the Bahamas.

Before his time with UBS, de Chellis spent 15 years at Merrill Lynch, ultimately heading Merrill’s London-based European private banking and family office group. –FWR
