In a major coup, Credit Suisse had poached Anthony DeChellis, the head of UBS’s private wealth management business in the US.

Credit Suisse has been looking for some time for a head of its wealth management business in the US, which now combines the old Credit Suisse First Boston private client business with the private bank.

Mr DeChellis will report directly to Walter Berchtold, chief executive of the firm’s private bank.

The former Merrill Lynch private banker, Mr DeChellis had been in his position at UBS for a little over two years.
