Credit Suisse Scoops Top Private Banking Award

Credit Suisse scooped the Euromoney award for best global private bank, while rivals HSBC and UBS picked up honours at the annual rankings of wealth management firms yesterday.

The Zurich-listed bank retained its title – awarded last year – for “best private banking services overall”; UBS, HSBC, Citi and JP Morgan came second, third, fourth and fifth respectively. The awards were announced yesterday in London.

For “super affluent” banking ($500,000 - $1.0 million) – HSBC came first, holding its position from a year before; for “high net worth” ($1 million to $10 million), HSBC also retained its top spot. In the “high net worth” ($10 to $30 million) bracket, the top award was retained by UBS. UBS also came top in the “ultra high net worth” (more than $30 million) segment, having been ranked third a year before.

For “relationship management”, Credit Suisse picked up the top award, and it also picked up top spot for “privacy and security”.
