Credit Suisse Appoints New Leadership In Thailand

The Swiss banking group has appointed another UBS executive to its leadership team in Asia.

Credit Suisse has appointed Urs Grueter from UBS as its new market group head for Thailand, replacing Christian Senn, who will be taking an extended leave of absence.

Senn, a 27-year veteran of Credit Suisse Private Banking, has led the Thai market since 2014. His recent achievements in that role include launching the onshore wealth management business earlier this year. He plans to return to the bank following a break of up to 12 months starting from the beginning of 2017 to focus on family commitments.

Urs joins from UBS Wealth Management, where he worked for 17 years, mainly in Singapore. He was most recently one of the bank's Southeast Asia international heads. Urs has covered Southeast Asian markets for most of his career, both as a producer and manager. He will also serve as a managing director.

Last month, Credit Suisse hired Tsuneaki Hirao, previously head of ultra-high net worth business at UBS, to replace Masahide Ohashi as managing director and head of private banking for Japan.
