The family office of Steven Cohen has made another hire outside of the US this week, having also announced plans to expand in Asia.

Steven Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management has recruited Will Tovey from Barclays as head of its London office, Bloomberg reported today, citing two people with knowledge of the matter.

Tovey, who was co-head of equity distribution for Barclays in Europe, is joining Point72 as the investment firm returns to the UK after an absence of two years, the report said.

Point72 couldn’t immediately be reached by Family Wealth Report to confirm the move at the time of publication.

The firm reportedly said in January that it was seeking a new chief for London and planning to hire around 40 traders and analysts as part of its UK expansion plan.  

Meanwhile, media reports this week also said Point72 Asset Management is boosting its team in Asia (see here).
