City National Bank Names Private Banking, Wealth Head

Operating in different parts of the US, the lender said the appointee has worked in the sector for over a quarter of a century.
Los Angeles-headquartered City National Bank – a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada - has unveiled a private banking and wealth management head: Brandon Williams.
Williams (main picture) has worked in the financial services sector for more than 25 years, CNB said in a statement yesterday.
Family Wealth Report has contacted CNB to ask if Williams is taking on a newly created role or replacing someone who has moved and will update this report in due course.
Williams, who joined the bank in 2016, will report to Howard Hammond, president and chief executive officer.
Since arriving at the lender, Williams has served as the head of East Coast private banking, focused on high net worth individuals and families, professional service firms and nonprofit organizations. He has been leading the private banking and wealth management division on an interim basis since June 2025.
Prior to joining City National, Williams spent 14 years at TD Bank, holding leadership roles including head of the bank's wealth management division in the US.
"Brandon is the right leader for our wealth business," Hammond said. "He understands what is important to our clients and colleagues, and I am confident that under his leadership, we will realize our bold vision for wealth management and private banking in the US."
The bank operates in locations such as Los Angeles, Orange
County, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City,
Nashville, Atlanta, Delaware, Las Vegas, Washington D.C. and
Miami. The business and its investment affiliates manage or
administer $106 billion in client investment assets.
