US groupWashington Trust has hiredKent Gladding, former senior vice president and chief investment officer of RBS-owned east coast focused Citizens Bank, as vice president and investment officer of Washington Trust Investors.

Based in Providence, Rhode Island, Mr Gladding will be responsible for managing investment portfolios for Washington Trust Wealth Management's clients.

At Citizens, Mr Gladding managed the company's investment division, with $4.6 billion under management. He also served as portfolio manager for high net worth and institutional clients.

Washington Trust Wealth Management, a division of the Washington Trust Company, has over $3 billion in assets under management and administration and is the largest wealth management firm in Rhode Island.
